Alice, this is hands down the most powerful, yet also most tragic of all the pieces I have read of yours, including your previous ones which are open and raw about losing your daughter. I can't even begin to imagine your pain. You deserve so much more than this tragedy and all credit to you for speaking up.

Evelyn is such a pretty name. And keep speaking it. Keep talking about her and your profound love for her. A love so deep that you took the kindest option inflicted upon you (I agree, it wasn't a choice).

While I am childfree, I do alot of advocacy type of work with those who identify as childless and I have contact with some incredible people. Infact a few weekends ago I was on a panel at a childless conference.
