Eight years ago I announced I was giving veganism a try. I finally felt the direction of my life, and my values, pull together.

I’m not sure what sort of reaction I expected, but I didn’t anticipate the amount of pushback and negativity I received. 😯

My Twitter bio stipulates I am vegan. I feel being vegan says a lot about a person. Although, let me be clear. Not all vegans are kind and many of the kindest people I know, are not vegan. Most of my nearest and dearest are omnivores, I do not judge them or try to change them.

I read a Tweet, aggressive in tone, but with a thought-provoking message. It was something to the effect “Why do vegans have to put “vegan” in their bio, I don’t put “meat-eater”. I mulled this one over for a while.

I love being challenged. I enjoy venturing outside my echo chamber and hearing thoughts and views which go against my own. It forces me…
