Welcome to Day 6 You Splendid Snakes

A dear friend of mine used to mock my veganism. She didn’t understand it. And that’s ok. I tried my best not to get defensive. I think it is important to respect the choices of our loved ones.

I found it easier just to avoid the topic of veganism, so as to avoid her challenges. Now I realize her pushback was her battling aloud with her own cognitive dissonance.

Let people find their own way

Over the years she has found her own path to living a predominantly vegan lifestyle. Something I never anticipated.

The other day my friend told me she was mortified about how she treated me all those years ago. She believes she was brainwashed by her “meat and two veg” upbringing. To her, veganism was simply too much to process all at once.
