Depending on the store the checkouts job is simply to scan your items and take payment. Very often bagging is not part of the remit. Or if it’s done it’s a wee added extra. My attitude is they are my groceries, they are mine to bag rather than stand idly watching them being scanned through. It saves time with each shopper. 🤷🏻‍♀️
