Great exploration and superbly written. Thank you. We’ve interacted before, you know I come from the childfree angle. But by no means am I anti kids or patenting. I am pro compassion for all, respect for all and equitability for all.

I completely agree that society romanticises parenthood and having kids. And like you say it’s the women who are often impacted.

I suppose I’m in the minority in I questioned my ticked box and i unchecked it. I’d say I have thought more about whether to have children than many parents have.

I wholeheartedly agree, if everyone gave having children in-depth thought and could understand the consequences on their life, health, finances, and the world in general maybe they would opt out or have fewer children. After all children are for life, not just as babies. People talk about having a baby, they don’t always think a few years ahead that they are having a toddler or teenager, or child that never leaves home! It’s complex.

I adore Yael’s work. She brings an eloquent angle to the complexity of women, their perceived worth and in-motherhood to this developing conversation 😀

Being anti pronatalism is where I feel we can all unite. 😀
