Great piece and interesting open question.

Forgiveness to me is accepting who I am and not beating myself up for being different, more like someone else or more "sucessful". It is embracing my goofiness in it's entireity.

It's forgiving myself for all the energy I spent on people who did not deserve it. I was not foolish or naive. I was pure and kind. But allowed my kindness to mistaken for a door mat.
