Great piece Kim. I’m a recovering busy person. Did you know - staying super busy is a trauma response?
Also I loved your point about friends. Friendships have been a big factor for me, and the last few years I’ve untangled from quite a few. It never sat right for me that “friends” can be so absent but think they could be called up in a crisis. Because if someone can’t be available in the good times for me, they’d be the last person I’d lean on or contact in a bad time. Friends are through good and bad times. They’re for having laughs and just because. They’re for sharing thoughts and silliness. Not only when they’re “needed” 😀
