Ha ha ha, oh a few of my siblings have fallen off their pedestals for sure. My poor mum.
I think if I had kids I would end up giving up so much for them as I would dive into them, willingly, but then I would resent it. I'm not sure I would be able to get the balance right. I always admire people like yourself that manage to keep their identity so surely.
Brene Brown has a wonderful way. She used to sit down with her family at the start of each term and they would all discuss what committments, hobbies and extra curricula they wanted to engage in. This included the adults! The adults didn't just become cheerleaders and taxis for the children. In turn - this showed the children that adulting is fun, fulfilling and satisfying. And adults arn't just there to serve children. We don't stop learning, striving and seeking interesting things to dive into when we become adults :-)
