Doing the right thing isn’t always met with gratitude. And we must be wary of expecting praise as a motivator for kindness.
Acting kindly often has more to do with our own values than anything else. It seems we live in a world where too many people walk around with blinkers on, reluctant to get involved in anything that doesn’t directly affect them. That’s not me. I will insert myself into a situation if I can be of any help.
It is a rare occasion that kindness upsets others. But when this happens, it says more about the other person than it does about us.
I want to share a story about the rescue of two runaway beagles and the owner's confusing response.
