Absentmindedly she licked her knife. This criminal act sparked off the Dynamite; he exploded.

In floods of tears, she was ostracised to her room while the rest carried on with their meal. Moments later, her twin sister also licked a knife and glanced cheekily up at the Dynamite. They exchanged looks. Dynamite smiled at her twin besottedly, and pleasantries continued.

Little me remained in the bedroom. Devastated and isolated. Once again, serving a sentence that did not fit the crime, handed out by a biased and corrupt judicial system!

Favoritism in parents is excruciatingly damaging. I am still enduring the trauma of my childhood experiences. I have a long way to go. I was made to feel inferior, worthless, and inadequate. He didn’t understand why I couldn’t be more like her, who was more like him. Heck, he wanted me to be a mini him. Luckily I was, and still am, far from being like him!

I was never good enough.

Children emulate their parent's behavior. Every day was filled with mocking, ridicule, and scathing remarks. My birth-sharing playmate became my worst bully. Encouraged by the man who was meant to love and protect me…
