I hear you, and thank you for being so kind to children. What I would say is that everything you have described, non-parents may do as well. Children can bring out the best in some people and these people become more empathetic from having kids, but other people are empathetic already without children.
There is no argument to suggest parents or non-parents are more empathetic, it's not a competition, but contrary to popular assumption, parents aren't more empathetic than non-parents, that's all I am trying to say :-)
