I think there's a difference between "editing" work and a writer reading submission guidelines and adhering to them.
We have clear cut submission guidelines for a reason and when anyone submits work which shows that they clearly haven't read the submission guidelines, it is rejected.
Even my onboarding form that new writers must complete, I stipulate the read time parameters, link to the submission guidelines and have a tick box for the to tick to confirm that they've read them. AND STILL, STILL...
If folk can't be bothered to read through the guidelines and ensure their work is a fit, then I am no longer wasting too much time spoon feeding them.
I totally understand there are those who don't want their work edited, but like I said at the start, there's a difference between being edited and making edits to ensure that the story meets the submission guidelines.
Don't like the guidlelines. Don't submit.
