I’m also a romantic. But I think movies have given us all unrealistic expectations if I’m honest. Life isn’t like the movies.

I follow a fascinating psychologist on Twitter. Dr Nicole Lepera, she did an interesting thread recently about sparks, romance and drama in a relationship. And outlined why we get bored in the healthiest relationships.

I’m absolutely not saying to lower your expectations, hell no lady. But be careful of trying to build a movie romance.

My partner isn’t the most romantic. But we adore each other, I trust him, he knows me and loves me, he accepts me. We are safe with each other. We are best friends and lovers.

Last year my word was perseverance. Haven’t decided yet for this year. Maybe honesty?
