My dear Yael, I needed to read this. I have an article circling around my head about how important The Village is, but it's required for EVERYONE, not just mums. The Village is community. And it requires everyone to be a fully giving community member if they expect to receive. There is a reciprocity in it. Sometimes we can give more, sometimes we need more. But it all comes around in full circle.

There are a few stories I have read on here that are women crying out for a village. They have an entitled tone and normally express that it is women without children who should be serving them as their village!!!!!!.

There is rarely the recognition that we ALL need a village at times. Community is essential.

And heck, in terms of the moms crying out for their village, well, the ones that cry the loudest ... I suspect they have never been someone else's village.

Loved this! I will be linking to it when I finally find the words to write my piece on The Village.
