I have never read an article by a parent that manages to hold the line through the whole piece that both parents and non parents can be happy/fine etc. I completely agree, if people want to have kids from an inner calling as opposed to to try and find "meaning" then that's brilliant. I believe to be a good parent you have to REALLY REALLY want children.

I am childfree and I write passionately about this. I debunk the stigma women without children face. I appreciate this superb piece. Can I call you a childfree/childless ally? I'm sorry to read of your childhood experiences. I suspect from these experiences and from your attitude in this piece that you are a pretty phenomenal parent!
