Choosing whether to have children is one of the biggest decisions of our lifetime. I recognize this choice is dripping in privilege.

Living childfree isn’t clear sailing.

Did you hear about the case in India where parents are suing their son for not providing them with grandchildren? It’s bonkers! But this is what we are up against.

Childfree people face dehumanizing pressure from family, friends, and society as a whole to follow the well-trodden path to parenthood. Childfree people, especially women, are considered outliers.

How dare we choose not to procreate!

Choosing a different path from those around us can cause a myriad of feelings. This can range from isolation and suppression to feeling invisible and irrelevant.

Maintaining friendships when life takes us in different directions can be challenging. But it is doable. All childfree people have their tales of friendships changed or lost and missing social invites.
