The Perfect Soundtrack for a Wedding Full of Love

Society dictates that weddings are the happiest day of our lives. But I don’t subscribe to this. Otherwise, it’s all downhill from here!

And also, I don’t believe marriage or romantic relationships are for everyone. When I was a little girl, my friends were planning their weddings while I was fantasising about how many dogs I would have!

Weddings may be a source of happiness, but they are not the pinnacle of happiness.

My husband sprinkles happiness into the every day.

Happiness isn’t about grand gestures or even fancy weddings; it’s in the small moments of the everyday. Holding my husband’s hand, enjoying a coffee in bed together, or singing along to music in the car.

I kicked off my flip-flops from under my secondhand dress and grounded myself on the cool grass. A deep breath in readied my mind and body. I could see my husband waiting on the edge of the pier; the sun bathed him and our few guests in a warm glow.

The piano of Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years triggered a fluttering within my soul; her voice lured me down the makeshift aisle toward my now husband.
