This is a brilliant piece. I’ve written a fair amount on friendship and the last few years I’ve had a bit of friend uncluttering shall we say. I believe friend is an active word. I am the one to initiate. It hurts when it’s not reciprocated. But it’s my choice if I hang around, relegate the friend to a different tier (great analogy thanks) or remove them altogether.

I’ve finally learned how to put boundaries up. It’s tough though right!
