This is brilliantly written. You go where many people are afraid to go. It’s ok not to want to interact with children. I would be similar to the airport lady. I would interact, smile and engage but up to a point. I’m not there to entertain someone’s kids, so year I’d expect the parents to recognise my cues of “please leave me alone now”
