What a fun read! Kudos to you and kudos to the wonderful Hollie. Being an editor is hard work, but the best ones are the ones that are kind with their edits or edit requests. I had an editor completely change the image I used - without running it past me - they put in an image that contained something I had intentionally avoided. The lack of checking with me and changing the look of my work so completely bothered me. Little changes don’t necessarily need to be explained. But big changes absolutely need buy in. Ultimately, while editors work for free here (most) the amazing ones work with the writers. 😀
