Wholeheartedly agree. I’ve been vegan 10 years. Here’s my take. Fake meat is used as a gateway into veganism. People who are used to a neat heavy diet are suspicious of Buddha bowls and amazing vegan food. When they see something they are familiar with it feels safer to them.
What I’ve found interesting is how some meat companies are now making vegan alternatives. Instead of waiting to go bust they are trying to stay where the trends are.
From an animal suffering perspective I’m all for folk eating less meat and dairy. But like you say, fake meats are not the way to go for health and environmental factors.
