Yes it is - and this is a good thing that it’s more socially acceptable to not have kids. But we are still criticised.

I do understand what you are trying to say but I will admit there are parts that didn’t sit right such as you feeling sad about people choosing not to.

Dogs bring me great joy but I appreciate not everyone likes them or likes them enough to commit to having one. I would never suggest anyone who doesn’t have a dog is missing out on joy, or that I’m sad for them.

Let’s celebrate people choosing to live to their yearning.

Your article is valid, and of course your thoughts and views are essential. Could maybe have done with a wee bit of editing so it didn’t sound like people choosing not to have children were hedonistic, frivolous or wrong.

These discussions are really important though, hence I tried my best to see the compassion with which I believe you wrote it 🙏
