You comment really made me think. I love how the comments section serves as an addage to the story. It sounds to me that it may be easier to be a single parent than a co-parent with a useless partner.

When I split up with an ex, it was easier to keep the house myself than live with him and "share" the chores. I was forever cleaning up after him and trying to negotiate with him. It was exhausting!
