You touch on one of the many reasons I don’t want kids.

My mum is still having to actively parent my 41 year old sister.

Having kids means committing the rest of your life to another human. We have to embrace physical and mental health issues. We have to be prepared for polarised differences in politics and lifestyle and love them, respect them and nurture them all the same.

It’s not a case of them turning 18 and they are out the door.

Parenting is for life. It is a huge embarkment. For the right people it will bring live and joy and an abundance of fulfilment. And for the wrong people (myself included) it would bring misery.

This is exactly why parenting is not for everyone and we are all encouraged to choose the right path for us.

Thanks for this 😀
